Flor. Virg. p. 47" and the Plukenet polynomial and reference given under that name, which is cited by Linnaeus under Clethra alnifolia, and not Itea virginica. I see no reason why it should not be a duplicate of Clayton 114 [NJT:8.11.1995]. Reveal's reference to Clayton 354 comes from later in the Clethra entry in FV (p. 48), where Gronovius states "In Charactere num. 354. corrige & adde".
