Amit Sheth is the director of Large Scale
Distributed Information Systems (LSDIS) Lab (http://lsdis.cs.uga.edu)
at the University of Georgia and a Professor of Computer Science.
He is also the CTO of Semagix, Inc. (http://www.semagix.com).
Earlier he founded two companies, including Taalee Inc, which he
managed as the CEO/Chairman, and is now part of Semagix.
Prior to joining UGA in 1994, he served at Honeywell, Unisys and Bellcore,
and managed Infocosm, Inc. He has worked
in the areas of federated database systems, semantic heterogeneity and semantic
interoperability in distributed information systems, and workflow management.
Commercial products resulting from this research are InfoHarness, METEOR EAppS
and SCORE-based Semagix Freedom. He has given 12 conference/workshop keynotes,
over 120 invited/colloquium talks, and is published extensively.
